FREE INFORMATION ON HOW TO GET THOSE GREAT DEALS THAT YOU'VE HEARD ABOUT AND MISSED BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T HAVE THE INFORMATION--HERE IT IS
Here is our favorite Web Sites where you can actually get great buys on a variety of items
Heard those stories about buying a Jeep in a crate for $10? How about the one about the divorced lady's new Cadillac for $50 ? How about buying a house for $350 ?
These are better known as urban legends, however even in today's markets there are bargains to be found. All you need is patience and the knowledge of where to look.
Military Surplus and GSA Surplus are two great sources for buying nuts and bolts to a complete house. Both now have sites and listings on the internet with sales on-going all year. The listing below is a link with a general description of what is offered.
This site has the contract with the US Department of Defense to sell all surplus military equipment and materials. Sales are on-going all year long in different regions of the US with periodic sales in Hawaii, Guam, Puerto Rico and some international Sales in Korea and Germany. On-line bidding is available for most listings and you can see what others have bid. In certain circumstances, sealed bids are required.
This is where all other government entities get rid of their surplus equipment, vehicles and furnishings. GSA also holds regional auctions http://surplussales.gsa.gov/ as well as regional fleet vehicle auctions http://www.autoauctions.gsa.gov Lots of furniture, computers and equipment are offered.
http://www.firstgov.gov/shopping/auctions/surplus.shtml Nationwide listings by state on all types of auctions. Includes oil leases, land sales, autos. trucks and just about any personal property that can be sold by a state agency.
http://www.habitat.org/env/restore.aspx find a store near you About 3 years ago, HFH started to open up retail stores to move their excess building materials and also to be able to receive the LARGE donations from the big-box stores. On a recent trip to the one in Albuquerque, in addition to the usual bargain prices, they were having a 50% off sale on all electrical and plumbing hardware. We're talking cases of electrical handy boxes, spools of wire, new lighting fixtures in packages, electrical load centers, and outlets/switches by the case. Also found were at least 50 new double pane windows priced from $10 for a 2 X 3 to $150 for a sliding door and frame. Even found large complete solid wood entry doors and frames that are used as displays at Lowe's and Home Depot for $250 that retail over $1400.
HFH takes in every type of building material so the possibilities are unlimited. Even picked up 2 ea 15 lb sledges with new handles for $10 ea---humm, now if only I could find someone willing to use them.
Use the link to search for the stores in your state. Be patient and acquire materials in sufficient quantities to finish a particular portion of your project because what you see is what you get and there won't be more like it later----that's why it is such a bargain (not cheap--just didn't cost much).
http://www.treas.gov/auctions/irs/ IRS site for all property being sold by the government including trains, planes, watches and real estate.
This site offers surplus equipment and building materials. Insurance salvage from wrecked trucks is also available.
Need a tractor, truck, trailer or welding rig? How about that vintage car you always wanted? Traderonline has it all--easy to search.
